The Aloha Farms Café coffee scoop is made entirely by hand of Koa wood by artist ‘O Ernie Torres in his woodworking shop in Ho’okena, Big Island, Hawaii.
Koa wood carries a rich Hawaiian history filled with tradition and was in earlier times used exclusively for the Hawaiian monarchs. Koa trees grow nowhere else in the world except in Hawaii. Koa wood has a distinctive grain pattern and colors from light golden blonde to auburn red, to deep chocolate brown. All Koa wood used is repurposed and refurbished.
